Onion Rings



28 spoons (commercial size) white flour

1 spoon garlic powder

1 spoon white pepper

4 spoons seasoning salt

1/4 spoon chili powder

1/3 spoon corn starch

1/2 gallon buttermilk

1 1/2 gallons water

6 oz. beer

1 lb extra fine crackermeal


Mix all ingredients with water and buttermilk (with exception of onions and cracker meal. Mix well and refrigerate over night. Cut onions into rings 1/4 of an inch thick. Cover and refrigerate over night.

Dip onions into batter a few at a time with one hand, shake excess liquid off and drop into container cracker meal well. Put finish produce into separate containers.

Repeat process until done. Fry with vegetable or canola oil until brown.
